Taking people on guided walks through the epic countryside of the British Isles is one of Andrew's most enjoyable areas of his work.
Thanks to his knowledge of the outdoors gained from the many years of walking, filming and writing, Andrew can put together a fantastic package of walks with history, heritage and information - just like on one of his television programmes.
It's not just radio stations who make use of Andrew's guided walking skills...
Andrew provides guided walks at Walking Festivals and Literary Festivals across the country, including the Isle of Man Walking Festival and the Sheffield Walking Festival.
As a leading outdoor & walking writer and the presenter of television's Walks Around Britain, Andrew's appearance is guaranteed to be an event.
BBC Radio Sheffield commissioned Andrew to devise, research and lead a series of walks in 2015 - one during the National Walking Month of May, and then five others during their season called "Love Where You Live" - celebrating all that's great throughtout the Radio Sheffield region.
Between 30 and 90 people came out of these walks, which Andrew designed to be as accessible as possible and all ranging from 4 to 6 miles in length.
At various points of the walks, Andrew gave talks he had researched to give the walkers more insight into the history and heritage of the area, often using his tablet to show old photographs and archive film - and throughout he gave hints and tips about walking and map reading.
Various BBC Radio Sheffield presenters also came out on the walks, and recorded audio packages based around Andrew's talks and vox pops with numerious walkers, which were then broadcast as live on air.
Andrew's broadcasting background means he knows exactly what is required in these packages, ensuring a great listen which is engaging even for people not present on the day.
